Suspicious Developments, the increasingly less efficient creators of Gunpoint and Heat Signature, have announced that their turn-based tactics game, Tactical Breach Wizards, will be released on Steam on August 22nd. Suspicious Developments chose to skip text descriptions of their hard work and instead embedded the trailer directly into their video presentation.

Storyline of Tactical Breach Wizards

Suspicious Developments, creators of popular titles Gunpoint and Heat Signature, have announced their newest tactical game, Tactical Breach Wizards. Tactical Breach Wizards invites players to step into the shoes of a team of renegade wizards in kevlar, working against different powers like the Rushwater PD, religious dictatorships, and private military corporations meddling with magic. The game offers a single-player, story-driven campaign of around 8-10 hours, where players can experiment and includes:

  • Combo spells for fun results: Each wizard has unique abilities, from a basic lightning bolt to transforming into a rabid dog. They’re enjoyable on their own, but even more entertaining when combined in creative ways.
  • Experiment freely and rewind mistakes: You can rewind your turn freely, allowing you to try out any idea you have. It might work perfectly, fail spectacularly, or lead to new ideas. Either way, you get to play it out instead of just guessing.
  • Fight against various powers: Your team is a group of misfits on the wrong side of the law, taking on the Rushwater PD and their Traffic Warlock, a religious dictatorship with Riot Priests, and a private military corporation using magic to boost their troops.
  • Upgrade your spellbook: Each wizard's abilities come with unique perks to unlock as they level up, customizing their powers to fit your playstyle and creating even more ways to combine their abilities.
  • Unravel a conspiracy and stop a war: As the enemy plot unfolds, you’ll add key players and their relationships to your conspiracy map, helping you track important details. You can explore deeper into the story, organize it in a way that makes sense to you, and keep a visual overview of what’s happening.

About Suspicious Developments

Suspicious Developments Ltd is a video game development company specializing in creating sneaky games where players devise clever plans and can even knock characters through windows. Their notable releases include Gunpoint and Heat Signature. As of 2024, their games have sold 1.6 million copies, making them the 53rd highest-rated developer out of 44,000 on Steam.

While they once had more humor in their description, they realized that naming their company Suspicious Developments has put them in a position where they can only afford to throw a limited number of stones from their metaphorical glass house.
