The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak, a role-playing game developed by Nihon Falcom and published by NIS America, was released as a part of the Trails series. The game debuted in Japan for the PlayStation 4 in September 2021 and was subsequently released in Japan and other Asian regions for the PlayStation 5 and Windows in July 2022. Additionally, a Japanese Windows port became available in March 2023. An English version, will include a Nintendo Switch port and is slated for release in July 2024 worldwide.
About The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak
Story
The game chronicles the journey of Van Arkride, a young bounty-hunting detective, as he undertakes a case that will alter the nation’s destiny as well as his own. The narrative is segmented into chapters, each set in the city of Edith, allowing players to engage with characters and complete side missions. The plot advances by directing the player to various locations, where new party members join the quest.
Combat System
The game incorporates a distinctive alignment system based on law, chaos, and a blend of both. While this system does not influence the main storyline or ending, it unlocks opportunities to ally with certain factions, triggering unique events and dialogues. The combat system features both real-time action battles and traditional turn-based combat, which can be freely switched between outside-of-boss fights.
