Since its inception in 2000, the F1 video game series has offered a rich and comprehensive racing game experience, meticulously developed by various companies over the years. It is recognized for possessing the official FIA Formula One World Championship license, and since the 2019 edition, it has also included the FIA Formula 2 Championship, enhancing its realism and appeal. In 2021, Electronic Arts, under its distinguished EA Sports label, took stewardship of the series, continuing to uphold the high standard of immersive gaming experiences that fans have come to expect. The series began with its first release in 2000, initiating a lineage that saw six titles developed by various creators until 2003. Codemasters, acquiring the license in 2008, embarked on producing annual sequels that reflect the ongoing Formula One season, thereby expanding its reach to include platforms like Wii, PlayStation Portable, and iOS from 2009. The transition to Electronic Arts in 2021 marked a new era, with EA Sports releasing F1 2021 and maintaining the series' legacy of quality and engagement.

F1 24, developed by Codemasters in collaboration with EA Sports, marks the seventeenth entry in the series, featuring licenses for the 2024 Formula One and Formula 2 championships. Scheduled for release on various platforms including Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on 31 May 2024, it promises early access for Champions Edition pre-orders, signaling its continued evolution and commitment to delivering a premier gaming experience.

The F1 video game series is lauded for its meticulous attention to detail and rich gameplay, offering features such as driver-manager options and online multiplayer. Its expansion to mobile platforms, including iOS, speaks to its adaptability and wide-ranging appeal. The series' dedication to crafting a deep, authentic racing experience positions it as a standout in its genre, striking a balance between precision and fan engagement, thereby offering a realistic portrayal of Formula One racing.
