Good news for gamers—one more game release isn’t being delayed. Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter from Odd Bug Studio is coming earlier than expected. Originally planned for February, it will now be released on January 28, 2025. The game continues the story as players explore the snowy Ratdom. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Tails of Iron 2, as expected from new releases, has plenty of updates. It introduces entirely new gameplay mechanics and systems that elevate the experience. The most groundbreaking addition is the inclusion of the Elementa magic system, where players can wield the powers of fire, ice, poison, and electricity in combat. With tactical traps and divine powers in the mix, players get more control over how Arlo takes on his enemies, making battles more dynamic and strategic. Plus, United Label, part of CI Games, is showing off an all-new spellcasting system in the trailer above.

Arlo must fight the Dark Wings and other creatures that guard valuable resources and upgrades. Doug Cockle returns as the narrator, lending his voice to Arlo’s mission to protect what remains of his homeland.

The game also debuts a monster-hunting mechanic, tasking you with tracking and defeating 15 massive, legendary beasts scattered across the northern frontier. Enhanced base-building mechanics also play a crucial role, as players restore Winter’s Edge into a bastion of strength by upgrading its facilities, from smithies to kitchens, which in turn improve Arlo’s chances in battle.

Another exciting addition is the new day-and-night system, which affects enemy behavior and regional threats, adding a layer of strategy to exploration and combat.

Tails of Iron 2: Whiskers of Winter launches on January 28th, 2025, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Players can choose between the Standard and Deluxe Editions, with the latter including exclusive DLC packs, a digital art book, and the game’s official soundtrack.
