GSC Game World has recently unveiled an intriguing new trailer for their upcoming game, "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: The Heart of Chernobyl" (also known as "Strider"). This captivating trailer showcases engaging dialogues, intense combat sequences, and the use of weapons equipped with optical sights. One exciting scene depicts weapon disassembly, hinting at advanced gameplay features. While the release date remains shrouded in secrecy, the trailer suggests a possible launch in the first quarter of 2024.
Moreover, "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2" has garnered significant anticipation, winning the title of the most anticipated game during the PC Gaming Show. This prestigious award was determined through a voting process involving a jury of renowned game developers along with a panel of content creators and the PC Gamer publishing team.
The Gamer Sky recently interviewed with the management team of GSC Game World studio. The CEO, Yevhen Hryhorovych, the executive producer, Maria Hryhorovych, and the marketing producer, Vladyslav Novikov, shared exciting details about their upcoming game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
One interesting discovery in the demo version is the opportunity to find an artifact by exploring alternative routes. Additionally, players can utilize an artifact detector inside one of the caves. During the gameplay demonstration, the developers showcased using a save system at checkpoints. However, it is important to note that the final version of the game will feature a classic save-and-load-anywhere system. Moreover, the release version will provide special guides to assist players in enhancing their survival skills within the hazardous world.
Each monster in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl possesses a unique artificial intelligence system, resulting in distinct behavioral patterns. For instance, a single wild dog will not initiate an attack on its own, but a group of wild dogs will actively pursue the player.
To ensure a broader player base, the developers have made efforts to make S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 more user-friendly. However, the game will not have a separate system instructing players on specific actions. The story's pace will correspond to the player's situation and progress.
The demo version introduced a limited weapon modification system that allows players to add functions, change appearances, and modify the way the weapon is handled. Notably, some firearm modifications will require players to locate specific NPCs within the game, who can assist with changing ammunition types, firing modes, weapon power, reload speed, and more.
The trailer showcased a powerful weapon that players can acquire towards the end of the game. However, obtaining it will require significant effort, as the ammunition for this weapon is quite expensive.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 offers a non-linear storyline with abundant content. The player's actions and decisions will determine their unique path, shaping the expanding plot. It is worth mentioning that players will not be able to explore all story options simultaneously, as different storylines will be available. The main story has a duration of approximately 40 hours and offers four distinct endings. Sidequests will also have various outcomes based on player choices, with some sidequests influencing the main story significantly.
