Samsung will unveil the Flex four-door refrigerator with the AI Family Hub+ system at CES next year.
This smart fridge from Samsung boasts an internal camera capable of identifying various foods. By using a dedicated app, it can suggest recipes based on your current inventory. Additionally, users can mirror the screens of their Galaxy smartphones on the 32-inch touchscreen display of the Family Hub system, enjoying TikTok and YouTube videos.
According to The Verge, a similar model was already showcased in 2023 but has now been updated with additional features. The refrigerator can now connect to the Samsung Health profile through the Family Hub, adapting recipes to suit the owner's dietary needs.
While the fridge's Vision AI feature can identify up to 33 products, it may struggle with more exotic items. Users can manually input product expiration dates on the touch screen, and the refrigerator will notify them when items have expired.
Samsung envisions this refrigerator as a central component of its broader ecosystem, including other AI kitchen appliances like AI ovens. Next year, Samsung will also introduce the Anyplace cooktop model, featuring a pull-out cooktop and a seven-inch LCD screen for viewing recipes from the Samsung Food app while cooking.
