Ghost of Tsushima is crafted by Sucker Punch Productions whose development was bolstered by a partnership with Japan Studio and thorough research visits to Tsushima Island, guaranteeing the game's fidelity to cultural and historical details. With inspiration from the iconic samurai films of Akira Kurosawa and the "Usagi Yojimbo" comics, the team aimed to encapsulate the samurai spirit and the picturesque landscapes of Tsushima in the game's aesthetic. Initially launched for the PlayStation 4 in 2020, an enriched Director's Cut followed in August 2021 for both PlayStation 4 and 5, introducing players to the new Iki Island expansion. And great news for PC players - on May, 16, the Director's Cut is set to grace your screens too via Steam

In the late 13th century, the Mongol empire devastated nations on their path to conquer the East. Tsushima Island stands as Japan's last defense against a massive Mongol invasion led by the cunning general, Khotun Khan. Amidst the island's destruction by the Mongol assault, samurai Jin Sakai remains steadfast. As one of the few surviving clan members, Jin is determined to protect his people and reclaim his home, even if it means abandoning tradition to become the Ghost and fighting unconventionally for Tsushima's freedom.
