Genshin Impact has released its latest major expansion, Version 5.0, titled "Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn." This update introduces the sixth major nation, Natlan, which is now accessible to players who have completed all Mondstadt Archon Quests. In Natlan, players can immerse themselves in exploring local tribes, varied landscapes, and deep-rooted legends. The expansion also offers a fresh playstyle, featuring the agility and unique abilities of Natlan's warriors and Saurians.

To celebrate the fourth anniversary of Genshin Impact, Version 5.0 includes a range of rewards and system enhancements. Players are invited to select a free 5-star character from the Standard Wish lineup. Additionally, they can earn up to 10 Intertwined Fates through a daily login event and receive various rewards, including 1,600 Primogems and two exclusive gadgets via in-game mail. The update also brings changes to the Character Event Wish and Weapon Event Wish, along with a new tool that allows players to craft Artifacts with custom affixes.

This latest update is available on PlayStation®, PC, Android, and iOS, with cross-progression and Co-Op features enhancing the gaming experience. Rated T for Teen by ESRB for PS5, PS4, PC, and Google Play, and 12+ on iOS, Genshin Impact continues to captivate players.

Phlogiston and Nightsoul are two new concepts introduced in Version 5.0, with one main difference: Phlogiston is an energy to obtain in Natlan, while Nightsoul's Blessing is a unique state for Natlan characters.

Phlogiston

In the Nation of Pyro, the unique resource known as Phlogiston can be found, existing in different forms that locals utilize for movement and combat. Once you indwell a Saurian, you'll notice that skills consume a separate Phlogiston bar on the right side of your Saurian body. For Natlan characters, a Phlogiston bar also appears above their health bar. Additionally, the constantly flowing Phlogiston can create pathways called Spiritways, which Koholasaurus or warriors from the People of the Springs can use for fast travel. There are several ways to replenish your Phlogiston. The simplest method is teleporting to a nearby waypoint, which instantly refuels your Phlogiston to its maximum capacity. Alternatively, you can collect specific local specialties in Natlan, such as gathering Crystal Beetles and Embercore Flowers to obtain Phlogiston Particles during your journey for a quick energy boost.

Nightsoul's Blessing is a unique state that enhances characters' mobility and combat abilities. The Elemental Skill serves as the most convenient way to enter this state, indicated by a Nightsoul bar on the left side of the character. While in the Nightsoul's Blessing state, Nightsoul Points and Phlogiston can be consumed sequentially to maintain the state. For example, Kachina and Mualani first consume Nightsoul Points to sustain their special rides—Turbo Twirly for Kachina and Sharky Surfboard for Mualani. Once the Nightsoul Points are depleted, these characters will switch to consuming Phlogiston to continue maintaining their Nightsoul's Blessing state.

Nightsoul has more practical uses during exploration and combat. Here, we want to explain two new Nightsoul-related mechanisms: Nightsoul Transmission and Nightsoul Burst.

Nightsoul Transmission introduces a new, streamlined way to enhance your travel efficiency. Switching to a Natlan character while dashing, swimming, gliding, or performing other movements triggers Night Transmission, which activates the next character's Nightsoul's Blessing state. For instance, switching to Kinich while gliding will cause him to enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state, allowing him to extend his grappling hook for a swift swing in mid-air toward his destination.

Nightsoul Burst can be triggered at intervals when Elemental Reactions occur within a team of Natlan characters. This mechanic synergizes with Artifacts and character talents, providing additional buffs that enhance combat capabilities. When Nightsoul Burst activates, a special effect prompt will appear on the screen. The more Natlan characters in your team, the more frequently Nightsoul Burst will trigger.

A unique baby Tepetlisaurus will become your partner at the start of your Natlan adventure. You can name this adorable companion, embark on adventures together, and uncover the secrets behind this little Saurian friend.

If you pass by some river valleys or stream banks, you might notice groups of lovely capybaras lounging in the grass, soaking up the sun and taking a brief nap. You may also see capybaras rolling around on the grass, attracting the attention of curious butterflies.

If you linger by the seaside, you might spot some plump Flowcurrent Birds. They can be seen swaying their bodies as they stroll along the shore. At this moment, the harmonious atmosphere between the animals and nature creates one of the most beautiful scenes in Natlan.

The first new boss in Natlan, the "Gluttonous Yumkasaur Mountain King," is a colossal Yumkasaurus whose massive size is fueled by its insatiable gluttony. In battle, the Mountain King gathers Flamegranates and spits them out as dangerous bombs, adding a fiery challenge to the fight.

Another new boss in Natlan is the "Goldflame Quocusaur Tyrant." At a certain stage in the battle, this formidable creature takes to the skies, entering a powerful shielded state. During this phase, it can unleash a Flamewind Feather, summoning a destructive flamewind.

To better unveil the history and heroic tales of each tribe, the Reputation System returns to Natlan with the Tribal Chronicles, a new series of three-act narrative quests for each tribe that weaves together traditions, stories, and people, replacing the Story Quests in Natlan.

Visit each tribe's "Obsidian Totem Pole" to unlock their Tribal Chronicles, along with their Bounties and Supply Notices. Completing these Tribal Chronicles not only offers a deeper and more immersive understanding of the customs and culture of different tribes but also earns Tribe Reputation EXP and rewards for the corresponding tribe.

Mualani is a five-star Hydro catalyst wielder from the People of the Springs. This shiny and warm-hearted girl is a watersports store owner and a fan of multiple water sports, such as swimming, surfing, and beach volleyball. Mualani primarily deals Hydro damage while utilizing on-field movement to stack layers.

• Surf to Explore: Her Elemental Skill allows her to ride her Sharky Surfboard to move swiftly on land, water, and liquid Phlogiston. Additionally, Mualani can surf on the Spiritways, a flowing Phlogiston track that provides a quick route for her travels.
• Surf, Mark, and Bite: Her Elemental Skill converts her Normal Attacks into Sharky's Bite, dealing powerful Hydro damage. By hitting enemies, Mualani can mark them and gain stacks. With a maximum of 3 stacks, Mualani can unleash an enhanced bite that inflicts significant damage.

Kinich

Kinich is a five-star Dendro claymore wielder from the Scions of the Canopy. He is a renowned hunter accompanied by his special Saurian companion, Ajaw.

• Grappling Hook: With his Elemental Skill, Kinich can use a grappling hook to reach higher places and swing forward consecutively by latching onto Coilgrass Sigils during exploration.
• Loop Shoot: When using his Elemental Skill near enemies, Kinich links to the target and initiates loop shots. In this state, he gradually accumulates Nightsoul Points, which, upon reaching their maximum, enable him to unleash a powerful shot, dealing significant Dendro DMG.
• Stand with Dragonlord: Upon activating his Elemental Burst, Ajaw, Kinich's Saurian buddy, will unleash dragon breaths to deal AoE Dendro DMG.

Kachina

Kachina is a four-star Geo polearm wielder from Children of Echoes, known for her brave soul and strong heart.

• Turbo Twirly: Kachina can summon Turbo Twirly to ride it for climbing walls and cliffs during daily exploration, and she can unleash ground-slam attacks to deal AoE Geo DMG in combat.
• Free to invite in Archon Quest: By completing the first act of the Natlan Archon Quest, you can invite Kachina to your team for free.

Saurian Indwelling is a unique transformation mechanism in Natlan. We can roam the land of Natlan in Saurian forms by indwelling them or our respective Spiritscounces.

In Version 5.0, players can inhabit three types of Saurians: Teptlisaurus, Yumkasaurus, and Koholasaurus, each offering unique skills.

The Tepetlisaurus can be a valuable ally for the Children of Echoes, renowned for its mining prowess. This Saurian may assist the tribe in excavating precious minerals and carving pathways through rugged canyons. When riding a Tepetlisaurus, you gain the ability to burrow underground, climb cliffs, and access hidden tunnels that swiftly transport you to the other side of obstacles.

Yumkasaurus

Beloved by extreme sports enthusiasts among the Scions of the Canopy, Yumkasaurus demonstrates unparalleled agility in reaching great heights. Additionally, when it consumes Natlan fruits, it can unleash explosive projectiles, making it a formidable force in both combat and exploration.

Koholasaurus

Koholasaurus shares the hot springs and flowing waters of joy and relaxation with the People of the Springs. After befriending a Koholasaurus, you can take a dip in the hot springs and waters surrounding this seaside tribe. This Saurian can even traverse dangerous Liquid Phlogiston and move along fast tracks made by flowing Phlogistons.

The Children of Echoes is located in the canyons of northeast Natlan, giving rise to expert miners and talented dancers. There is a large stage that serves as the heart of their entertainment, where locals proudly showcase their dancing skills and passion for the arts.

If you're an extreme sports enthusiast or simply want to take in breathtaking views, visit the Scions of the Canopy, a tribe that is cantilevered over the steep cliffs with cables. The people there are highly skilled at navigating through jungles and forests and reaching high places with ease. These abilities make them exceptionally suited for the role of couriers.

People of the Springs is a laid-back tribe known for its hot springs, offering a relaxing vibe with various water sports and music. It's an ideal place for locals to conquer the waves and enjoy beach volleyball. With the help of local guides, more stories and mysteries will be unveiled about this seaside tribe.

Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world adventure RPG that brings players to the visually stunning world of Teyvat. The player takes on the role of the mysterious "Traveler," who sets off on a journey to discover the fate of their lost sibling. Starting from Version 5.0, Natlan, the sixth of the seven nations is open for exploration.
