Braid's sequel is dated back to 2008 and is the first release of sole author Jonathan Blow. The game drew attention to innovative features of time control and aesthetic immersion. The player assembles Tim, a knight, and takes him on a journey to free the princess from a magical environment. The twist? Rewinding time can lead to solving puzzles, navigating hazards, and even reaching places you would otherwise have no choice but to leave behind.

Fast forward to 2020, and news emerged about Braid, Limited Edition. The game was slated for a 2021 release on all consoles and PCs, but something went wrong, and the new date of launching is about 2 weeks - May 14 (May 15 for Xbox).

Here's what Braid, Anniversary Edition brings to the table:

Remastered visuals: Hand-painting reborn in high-definition, with Tim's old image getting a ninefold zoom-in to sharpen his image on modern displays. The animations and backgrounds are likewise changed, which makes the game atmosphere more lively and amusing.

A new world of puzzles: In the Anniversary Edition, there are new levels that will let you do the bending of time but now differently and freshly.

In-depth developer commentary: Braid: Anniversary Edition as the game is not the only different thing. The guy who worked on the game shares over 15 hours of commentary. He details the process, and inspirations, and even hides some of the secrets himself.

The wait for Braid, Anniversary Edition has come to an end. Concerning pre-order availability on PC, as of today, April 30, 2024, the game is available for pre-order on Steam. Find your time-twisting remake copy for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch (TBA), and Mobile for Netflix subscribers.
