The MSI GF63 boasts impressive build quality and design. It feels a bit cheap, but it is flexible and collects fingerprints. However, the metal lid is not sturdy, and the plastic bottom slides easily on surfaces.

Our configuration includes an Intel Core i7 12650H processor, an Nvidia graphics card, 16GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM, and a 15.6" 144Hz display. The laptop is lightweight for a 15" gaming model, due to the lower power consumption of the graphics card. It comes with a 120W charger. This compact design makes it convenient for those looking for a portable gaming laptop.

The front screen has a built-in 720p camera, and the keyboard features a red backlight. To adjust the brightness, press and hold the Fn key and use the PgUp and PgDn keys.

If you are looking for a gaming laptop with multiple ports, the MSI GF65 Thin is a good option. On the left side, there is an input for the power adapter and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port. One of the features of the MSI Center software is the power-saving mode of the display. This mode automatically changes the screen refresh rate from 144Hz to 60Hz when the laptop is running on battery. Users should be careful with this setting as it can affect laptop performance in some situations.

Air ventilation is provided from the left side and from one corner at the back where the single fan is located. Using the MSI Center program, we can choose different performance modes in ascending order - silent, balanced, and extreme. Extreme mode allows us to overclock the GPU of our gaming laptop. We can also activate the cooling acceleration function, which works at maximum fan speed or slightly adjust it in advanced mode. However, we still recommend using cooling platforms for gaming laptops.

The GF63 has a 51Wh battery, which is on the small side of a gaming laptop. As a result, you can expect to get around 3-4 hours of battery life on a single charge for a simple work routine and up to 2 hours through gaming or doing any other demanding tasks. So if you need more for your gaming you'll need to keep the charger plugged in.

The MSI GF63 is a good budget-friendly RTX 4050 cheap gaming laptop. It offers good performance for the price, and it has a sleek and stylish design. However, it's important to keep in mind that the GF63 does have a few drawbacks, such as its short battery life and flimsy lid.
