When we create a pick of recommended devices for any occasion, first we look to devices that have received high customers ratings. One such device is the Nebula Capsule projector by Anker. This time, we’ll take a closer look at the portable Nebula Capsule 3 projector with Google TV, an updated and more basic version of the Capsule 3 Laser.

Is It The Same “Capsule” We Know?

Anker launched its first Nebula projector in November 2017, entering the portable projector market. The Nebula Capsule was compact, shaped like a soda can. It used an LED light source with 100 ANSI lumens of brightness and could project images up to 100 inches. The device ran on Android 7.1, letting users stream content directly from apps, and included a 360-degree speaker for clear sound. This simple yet effective design made it a top choice, and by 2018, it led the portable projector category on Amazon.

Since then, projectors for large-screen viewing have advanced, but Nebula projectors continue to stand out for both indoor and outdoor use.

Capsule 3 vs. Capsule 3 Laser

Nebula offers two Capsule projectors with similar numbers but slightly different features. The Capsule 3 Laser (D2426) uses a laser light source with 300 ANSI lumens of brightness, making it better for brighter rooms. It originally ran on Android but now uses Google TV. The Capsule 3 (D2425) has an LED light source with 200 ANSI lumens, making it less bright than the Laser model.

The Capsule 3 has buttons for power, mode, volume, navigation, and quick access to apps and Google Assistant. It also includes a remote with Google TV, making it easy to adjust the volume, focus, and open apps like Prime Video and Netflix. You can also control it through a phone app, removing the need for the remote.

The Capsule 3 is slightly lighter than the Laser but offers the same battery life — up to 2.5 hours of video playback on a single charge. It supports smart environmental adaptation technology, allowing you to set up the projection in just 3 seconds without manual adjustments. It automatically focuses and corrects keystone distortion, meaning that even if the projector displays an image at an angle, it will adjust to look straight and not distorted.

Theater, Anytime, Anywhere

The Capsule 3 can turn any room into a home theater with a screen size of up to 120 inches, all while remaining 50% smaller than comparable models. It projects in Full HD resolution, ensuring sharp and vibrant visuals. The built-in 8W Dolby Audio speaker performs exceptionally well, but you can also connect an additional Bluetooth speaker if you prefer. (the AUX port on the Nebula Capsule 3 can also connect to external speakers or sound devices.)

The projector connects easily to many devices, including USB 2.0 drives. It has multiple ports for external connections. With HDMI, you can play games or watch DVDs on a large screen. You can also stream content from your device.

The projector offers up to 150 minutes of movie playback or up to 8 hours of music on a single charge, letting you enjoy uninterrupted entertainment. In a nutshell—the Nebula Capsule 3 retains all the key features of the lineup, but its affordable price makes it an attractive option — especially now, with a huge discount on this compact model.

The Nebula Capsule 3 projects at a resolution of 1920 × 1080 with a contrast ratio of 400:1 for clear images. It supports screen sizes from 40" to 120" and includes auto focus and keystone correction for easy setup. Its 8W speaker provides clear sound. The device uses WiFi (2.4 GHz/5.0 GHz 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) and Bluetooth 5.1.

Conclusion

The Nebula Capsule 3 is a great choice if you want a simple and affordable projector. It uses an LED light source instead of laser technology, so it has slightly lower brightness than the Capsule 3 Laser. However, it is lighter, which makes it easier to carry. It includes the same useful features like autofocus and keystone correction at a lower price. If you need a compact and reliable projector that is easy to use and transport, the Nebula Capsule 3 is a solid option.

Especially during this holiday season.
