The Last of Us Season 2 will incorporate elements from The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered's Lost Levels, as confirmed by Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog co-president and show co-creator. These Lost Levels, previously excluded from the game but included as bonus content for the PlayStation 5 upgrade, will be integrated into the second season of the HBO adaptation. Druckmann mentioned that although filming has yet to commence and plans may change, at least one cut-level element is planned for the show.

The Lost Levels, featuring Jackson Dance, Boar Hunt, and Sewers, expand on existing levels in The Last of Us Part 2. They offer further insights into the original game's development and aim to deepen fans' appreciation for the studio's creative work. However, it's important to note that the levels should not be considered indicative of the HBO show's direction, as the show takes its own path to suit the medium.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, along with the Lost Levels, offers exciting features such as No Return mode, guitar-free play, graphical enhancements, and DualSense integration. The game is set to release on January 19, and players who own the original game on PlayStation 4 can upgrade to the PS5 version for $10.

While the exact release date for the second season of the HBO show remains unknown, lead actress Bella Ramsey suggested a possible early 2025 arrival.
