Kitsune Games announces that their new inspired by Japanese mythology game Kitsune Tails will be released on Steam for Windows on August 1, 2024, and the console versions are scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2025.

Navigate through mythological matters of the heart as Yuzu, a young half-fox/half-human messenger to the god Inari, voiced by Kira Buckland, the voice of NieR: Automata’s 2B. Traverse multiple worlds filled with legendary Japanese creatures standing between Yuzu and her destined locations. Assist Yuzu in overcoming obstacles to rescue her love interest Akko from a dire fate, utilizing an array of mystical moves along the way.

Explore different costumes that alter Yuzu’s appearance and control over her environment. Jump into a giant boot, dash across the water dressed as a shark, don an indestructible kasa hat to break apart the earth and enjoy a whole elemental wheel of options granting Yuzu a variety of new abilities. Master a transformative wardrobe to turn a perilous journey into a speedrunning triumph.

Find the balance between challenging kaizo gameplay and sincere narrative structure by creating custom maps for Kitsune Tails using the open-source Tiled Map Editor. Create vast worlds of creative challenges to share with the global Kitsune Tails community. Push beyond traditional 2D platformers and test the engine's maximum potential.

Kitsune Tails is the follow-up to Super Bernie World, which was played over a quarter million times across Steam and itch.io. Kitsune Games is teaming up with 2064: Read Only Memories studio MidBoss and console publisher Ratalaika Games to bring you this platformer styled after beloved classics to PC and console and regions across the world.
