New features iOS 17 image

iOS 17 was presented in June of this year, so let's take a look at what's coming in September before the official release. TheGeekyThings collected known information about the update

The new version of the contact book will add the Contact Poster feature, which will allow you to turn ordinary number cards into expressive images similar to those displayed during an incoming call. The cards will have a similar design to lock screens, with font options and the ability to add Memoji. In addition, these cards will be compatible with third-party VoIP applications, which will increase their functionality.

The Check In will allow users to check the status of their contacts, such as friends or family members, by determining their physical location or whether they have reached their destination. This feature allows users to monitor the well-being and safety of their loved ones, as well as receive up-to-date information about their travels and movements.

If permission is granted, users can receive notifications from the app if a contact reaches a certain point or completes a certain scenario. This allows you to keep up to date with events and changes in plans directly from people on the move.

In addition, if the target result is not achieved, for example, due to a lack of communication or a low battery, the Messages function will send a notification to the trusted person.

The automatic Transcription feature of audio messages allows you to get a text version of voice recordings. This is a useful solution for those who are not able or do not want to listen to audio recordings at a particular moment.

In the Messages app for iOS 17, you can access different types of stickers in a single panel. This new sticker bar is designed to provide easy and quick access to different categories, such as Live Stickers, emoji, Memoji, and other sticker sets. The special feature create Live Stickers has significant potential and may become one of the most popular features after the Messages update.

Record a short video or audio message if the person you called on FaceTime was not available. You can also use hand gestures to create reactions, such as fireworks and hearts.

"Siri" That's right, not Hey Siri. The call request is now simplified.

In the new charging mode, called StandBy, the screen turns into a status display showing the date and time (the clock face can also be changed). This mode can show information from Live Activities or widgets that automatically activate when your phone is in landscape mode while charging. You can also swipe right to view certain selected photos. In addition, Siri will display visual results in standby mode, and at night, the display will turn to a red hue to help you sleep comfortably.

NameDrop is an update to AirDrop, which allows you to transfer selected email addresses or numbers simply by bringing two devices closer together. This feature works both between two iPhones and between an iPhone and Apple Watch. This feature is also used to transfer photos, and if the file size is large, it is possible to go out of range while continuing to download data.

With the new features in the Reminders app from Apple, you can now create grocery lists without a clear structure that automatically sorts them into different categories, such as beverages, frozen, or dairy. This will help make the shopping process more efficient and convenient.

In general, the new iOS 17 will bring many new features, including the following:

  • Downloading content for offline Apple Maps
  • Routing of electric vehicles with regard to charging stations
  • Visual Look Up allows you to find recipes based on food photos.
  • Log in using any email address or phone number specified in your Apple ID account
