Google Meet will host the meeting for you.

Designed with an innovative approach, Google's Duet AI literally transforms the dynamics of video calls in Google Meet. The main goal is to reveal what happened during the conversations if you joined the call late or missed it.

At the Cloud Next conference, Google introduced new AI technologies that will soon expand the capabilities of the Meet video calling app. The difference in this updated version is the ability to create notes in real-time. And if you missed an important meeting - Duet will provide you with a detailed overview of what happened right during the call. Such recordings will be automatically saved in Docs, and you can even add video clips of key moments to them.

And that's not all. Duet's special feature allows artificial intelligence to actively participate in the meeting on your behalf. The program automatically generates a text of what you might want to talk about, and these notes are then distributed to all participants in the video call. Similar features were previously launched by Microsoft and Zoom.

An additional bonus - Duet will add functions for studio-quality image, lighting, and sound. It will display dynamic name tiles thanks to facial recognition and provide automatic subtitles with the ability to translate into 18 languages in real time. These AI capabilities for Google Meet will begin rolling out later this year.

Launched by Google in 2017 as Hangouts Meet, the platform quickly gained popularity among corporate communities, challenging the traditional way of conducting video calls in remote work environments. It has become an important tool for communication and cooperation, providing high-quality communication and simplified teamwork.

Since 2020, the platform has received an updated name - Google Meet and has gone beyond corporate boundaries, becoming a means for training, medical consultations, as well as personal connections. Ease of use and broad integration capabilities make it an important component of modern virtual communication and collaboration. Comparing my experience with video calling apps during the pandemic and now, my team and I have been using Meet for over two years now, so I'm looking forward to the launch of Duet.
