The year 2025 has started great, and I feel inspired! One of the year's expectations has already been confirmed or is almost on its way to being fulfilled. Although there are no clear timelines yet. But this is just the beginning. More updates coming soon!

The Nintendo Switch 2, the next version of the Nintendo Switch, will launch in 2025. Nintendo shared a first-look trailer that shows the console’s design and features. You can watch the trailer and find more details on their website

This new system will work with both physical and digital Nintendo Switch games, though some may not fully support the updated hardware. Nintendo will provide more details about compatibility soon.

Want to try it out? Nintendo will hold hands-on events for the Switch 2 in select cities across North America.

• New York: April 4–6, 2025
• Los Angeles: April 11–13, 2025
• Dallas and Toronto: April 25–27, 2025

You will need a ticket to attend these events. Tickets are available through a free drawing. Registration starts on January 17, 2025, at noon PT and ends on January 26, 2025. To enter, you must have a Nintendo Account and be a U.S. resident aged 18 or older. More details.

On April 2, 2025, Nintendo will hold a "Nintendo Direct" to share more about the Nintendo Switch 2. The event will cover features, new games, and other opportunities to try the system. Stay tuned to learn more.

We will wait for all the events to conclude to learn more details about the new Switch. I’m glad I didn’t see major changes in the form factor and design. And although the size seems to have increased based on the trailer, the 2nd version will remain quite compact. Let’s wait for the details together.
