Another game featuring the majestic cats of our planet is being released this year on International Cat Day. It's called Catcelona and it blends Barcelona's architecture with hidden feline characters.
About Catcelona
A Blend of Barcelona and Cats
Catcelona is a relaxing and enjoyable video game that combines Barcelona's architecture with hidden cats. The idea for this game came from watching our feline friends navigate the city we love and grew up in. Creating this game took countless hours of drawing and integration, showing our commitment to delivering a top-quality gaming experience.
Gameplay and Features
With over 300 hidden cats around the city, the player's main goal is to find these cats and guide them to a safe place, the cat shelter. The game also features six extra levels where players can explore the interiors of selected buildings. Designed with relaxation in mind, the game offers a safe and beautiful space for players to enjoy. It is also designed to be inclusive, keeping in mind individuals with Autism and high sensitivity.
Catcelona will be available in over 15 different languages, removing any language barriers between the game and the players. Additionally, a portion of each game sale will be donated to El Jardinet dels Gats, a cat shelter in Barcelona. In a unique twist, we are incorporating real cats into the game, adding authenticity and fun to the experience.
Crowdfunding
The game is in the second round of its Kickstarter campaign and is close to reaching its funding goal. It offers unique rewards like custom postcards of your cat in the game’s art style. Additionally, the studio will donate 5% of each purchase to a cat shelter in Barcelona. Players can replay levels and race against the clock for extra excitement. There are also various reward packages for dedicated players, including personalized in-game cat characters, a Barcelona map pack, postcard packs, and custom portraits of your cat family.
Release Date
The game is set to release on August 8, 2024, on Steam coinciding with International Cat Day. Developers aim to launch it on all gaming platforms but without date details.
