Apple is set to unveil the new iPhone 15 lineup featuring a USB-C port instead of the traditional Lightning port, as reported by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman. The announcement is expected to take place on September 12. Additionally, there are rumors of a new USB-C charging case for AirPods.
Regarding the updated charging case, Gurman did not specify which AirPods model will receive it, but both the standard AirPods and AirPods Pro are likely to adopt this new standard in the future.
While no other features or changes have been mentioned for AirPods apart from the USB-C update, it's worth noting that the third-generation AirPods were released in October 2021, and the second-generation AirPods Pro in September 2022. Therefore, it is highly probable that an update to the base model of AirPods is on the horizon.
I think that Apple may transition other devices from the Lightning port to USB-C, including accessories like AirPods Max, MagSafe, and others. Last year, Apple introduced a USB-C port to the Siri Remote during an update.

AirPods are always at the forefront of Apple products, and AirPods Pro can bring you more enjoyment from music and audio content. Catch the gift idea as always.
